Faith.
Community.
Sport.

We compete with intensity.
We live with coherence.
We build community.

A sporting community where faith meets sport, friendship and everyday life.

Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico.

Faith does not end when you leave the church.

It is also in the training.
In the effort. In the discipline.
In the way we compete.
In how we treat an opponent.
In how we react to defeat.
In how we celebrate a win.
In the friendships we build.
In the families we walk with.
In the service we are able to offer.
We train the bodyWe form characterWe build community

That is why we play sport. Not to keep our faith apart from our life, but to learn to live it here as well. This is Sintonía Católica.

I

Sport brings us together. Faith holds us together

What Sintonía Católica is.

Sintonía Católica is a sporting apostolate born in Monterrey that gathers people and families who share the Catholic faith around a common passion: sport.

We take part in training and competition — from running, marathons and triathlons to football, tennis and other disciplines — creating spaces where people can meet, share, compete and build relationships that outlast the field.

Sport is the meeting point. Community is the destination.
II

Faith, sport and community. One same tune

Three words, and the part each one plays.

Faith
The foundation.
We are Catholic and we want to live our faith naturally in every area of life. We do not treat it as something separate from training, competition, friendship or family.
Sport
The vehicle.
We train. We prepare. We compete. We take sport seriously because we believe discipline, effort and excellence can also form character.
Community
The fruit.
We come for the sport, but we want to stay for the people. We build friendships, bring families in and create bonds that can reach far beyond a competition.
III

A different way of living sport

Five stages, and none of them ends when the match does.

Train
Discipline.
Preparing ourselves takes consistency, effort and commitment.
Compete
Excellence.
We step onto the pitch, the track or the course to give the best of ourselves.
Gather
Friendship.
The competition ends. The friendship remains.
Grow
Character.
Victory teaches. So does defeat. Every competition can reveal something about ourselves.
Serve
Apostolate.
Our talents, our relationships and our community can become instruments for something greater than ourselves.
IV

We want to win. But not at any price

Our philosophy of competition.

Yes. We like to compete. We like to improve. We like to push ourselves. We like to chase excellence. We like to win.

And at the same time: a win does not make us superior. A loss does not make us inferior. The opponent is not an enemy. Intensity does not justify disrespect. The result matters, but the person matters more.

When we win
We give thanks.
We celebrate.
We honour the effort.
We avoid arrogance.
We keep training.
Winning does not define us.
When we lose
We learn.
We own our mistakes.
We accept the frustration.
We look after the team.
We go back to training.
Losing does not define us either.
The scoreboard measures a result. It does not measure the worth of a person.
V

The body trains. So does character

What sport demands beyond physical ability.

DisciplineFortitudePerseveranceTemperanceHumilityRespectGenerosityCoherence

Exhaustion. Pressure. Frustration. Rivalry. Defeat. Victory. Teamwork. In every one of those situations there is an opportunity to grow.

We are not only looking for better athletes. We are looking for better people.

VI

We come for the sport. We stay for the people

What happens after the match.

Sintonía does not end when the match does. We want people to really know one another. For teammates to become friends. For friends to meet each other's families. For families to find other families. For a competition to become a friendship, and for a friendship to become community.

The team is the way in. The community is the real inheritance.

And we believe the sporting experience can reach beyond the athlete. We want to create spaces where spouses, parents, children and families can accompany one another, spend time together and belong to something wider. Because a strong community does not only gather individuals: it builds bonds between families.

VII

Our Code

Twelve points. Not rules from a rulebook: the way we want to be on the field and off it.

We train with discipline.
We compete with intensity.
We respect the opponent.
We never trade dignity for a win.
We win with humility.
We lose with composure.
We look after our teammates.
We build friendships that outlast the sport.
We bring our families in.
We live our faith with coherence.
We serve with our talents.
We leave the community better than we found it.
VIII

What begins on the field can go much further

A friendship can become a community, and a community a mission.

Friendship→ Family→ Community→ Service→ Apostolate

A team can become a community. A community can generate projects. A talent can become service. A competition can open a door. And a door can lead to a new purpose.

We believe faith is also trained.

It is trained when we persevere. It is tested when we lose. It shows when we win. It is shared when we build community. And it becomes visible when we live with coherence.

Sintonía Católica began in Monterrey with a simple idea: that there should be a place where Catholics could meet, share and compete together. We want that idea to grow. For new people to find community. For new teams to form. For new disciplines to join. For other families to find a place. And for other cities one day to live this same experience.

IX

Are you in tune?

We are building a community of people and families who want to live their faith in sport too.
